Three Sets
| Letter set | Use |
|---|---|
| Full A–Z | Categories: food, place, animal |
| Vowels only | Word building, early reading |
| Consonants only | Hard mode: no easy vowels |
| Your custom set | Spelling list, first letters |
Letters are uneven in English. Per Wikipedia’s frequency counts, E is about 12% of written English; Q, J, Z sit under 1% each. Scrabble agrees — E gets 12 tiles, the most. Hence the groan at a spun X or Z.
Categories Night
Spin the random letter generator, land on T. One word per column: animal — tiger, food — toast, place — Toronto, name — Tom, thing — table. One minute. A word scores only when nobody else wrote it.
Round two: auto-remove winner on, T leaves, next round starts from 25 letters. The table is loud.
Classrooms and Game Night
In lessons, spin the random letter generator for the phonics sound, or spelling warm-up starter. For young kids, delete Q, X, Z for a kind set. The list is editable — language classes can type é or ñ. At home: name-place-animal-thing, prompts, drawing ideas.
Once you have a letter, spin our random word generator wheel for the word itself. For scores and turns, the random number generator wheel covers numbers.
One Letter, Three Jobs
Morning phonics: spin once for the sound of the day. Lands on B — class calls B words, hunts one B thing.
Spelling warm-up: spin again, one minute, longest word starting with the letter. Neat writing counts.
End of day: results list shows the week’s sounds.
Two Quick Fixes
Repeat letters? Each spin is fresh, so repeats happen. Auto-remove winner, or delete after the round.
Capitals for new readers? Type the custom set in capitals.
